Recycling Plastic: Why It Matters?

The world is full of plastics of all kinds. Recycling is one of the easiest ways for you to have a positive impact on the world in which we live. Recycling of plastic is essential in the world today, but why?

Recycling and chemically treating plastic for reuse is a means to protect the environment. Recycling helps reduce the strain on finite resources like petroleum, water, coal, wood and natural gas. According to Ocean Cleanup (https://theoceancleanup.com/), an environmental organization, there are 5 trillion pieces of plastic waste in the ocean today (2019). You can help the environment by buying recyclable plastic containers.

What about Sloan Soap Containers?

Sloan soap refill containers for ESD-217, ESD-232 and ESD-231 and ESD-233 are identified #2 - HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene). HDPE is the most commonly recycled plastic and is considered one of the safest forms of plastic. It is a relatively simple and cost-effective process to recycle HDPE plastic for secondary use.

What about Sloan Soap in the refill container?

Sloan soap, according to the company’s Cosmetic Data Sheet and Safety Date Sheet, is not considered harmful to aquatic organisms or to cause long-term adverse effects in the environment. It is anticipated to be safe for the environment at concentrations predicted in household settings under normal use conditions. Check with Sloan Valve for more information.
